This joint venture between Prairie BioGas Ltd. of Regina, SK, and Grizzly Disposal Solutions Inc. of Lac La Biche, AB, will take commercial waste streams from the Lac La Biche region and convert them into value added biochar and bio-oil. Initially, these products will be used to generate green energy for sale into the Alberta power grid. The biochar will also be developed into a suite of products for a variety of commercial applications while the bio-oil will be developed into a carbon neutral transportation fuel or a precursor for other industrial processes. This project will result in the diversion of significant volumes of waste from the local landfill while creating new, green products for the marketplace. It will also bring environmentally responsible industry and jobs to the Lac La Biche region.
